Privilege

Acts 10:3-6 (NASB) About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!” And fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God. Now dispatch some men to Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also called Peter; he is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the sea.”
Why didn't the angel just tell Cornelius the message of the Gospel?

It was not given to angels the ministry of reconciliation.

It was given to us.
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NASB) Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [...]
We, humans, have been given the responsibility and privilege to bring the good news and teaching to those who have not heard and do not know.

What an honor!

I know, today's Independence day, and it is an honor for the daughter of 2 immigrants to be a citizen of this country, but I feel it is more an honor to be God's child and be given the duty and privilege to share the Good News and expand the Kingdom.  Wouldn't you?

Think about that next time you are sharing the Gospel with someone.
