Pollination

God is awesome.

I'm tempted to type:
'nuff said.

But God is amazing!

And -
When we've been there
Ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun!
We've no less days
To sing God's praise
Then when we've first begun.
~4th verse of Amazing Grace~

We'll never be done praising God!

To smell like a chocolate chip cookie...

Saturday night I stayed up extra late, putting together some pizzas for an after-church lunch the following day (well, but the time I got to bed it was already Sunday). Paul Washer and John Piper live in my iPod, so I put in my earphones and tucked the device in my apron pocket.  I had some chocolate chip cookie dough in the refrigerator, and as I neared the end of my project, I decided that as long as I had the oven hot, I might as well throw in a sheet of cookies, right? I began to scrub out some mixing bowls as the sugary morsels spent some quality time with my oven. The first time I checked on them, I decided that they could use just about a minute more. I proceeded to scrub out another bowl and listened to John Piper talk about sleep and swished the soapy bubble-studded water around that lime green bowl and then... Oooh the smell of those cookies just got a little too strong, on the verge of being burnt. Oops! I quickly yanked them out and set them on the counter to cool. They smelled amazing. Yeah, you're technically supposed to wait a minute or two so they don't fall apart and don't burn you, but who cares? I broke off a piece of one, and shortly thereafter found myself grabbing my water bottle to cool my mouth. But the crispy, gooey awesomeness transformed into a contented smile on my tired face and reminded me that chocolate, especially when in hot cookies, is definitely more proof that God loves us.

I inhaled that wondrous smell again, and suddenly, a thought hit me. After applying a few bandages to the place of impact, I pondered on it. 2 Corinthians 2:15 tells us that we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: We are like the aroma, and Christ is like the cookies. We were meant to glorify the Maker through our aroma, and cause others to desire to run and find the Cookies, being so excited about it that they take hold of them regardless of the costs.

Prankster

Last month, it was unofficially officiated that Jsis and Asis are sneaky pranksters.  When we were in Maine with friends they (Asis&Jsis) demonstrated their abilities a couple times and kept the times lively.

Later that vacation, a little friend of ours shared a video:

If only we had thought of those before the gathering ended... but anyways...

Good times...

Quotes I

I'm doing an online Bible thingamajig.

The course instructor has some pretty awesome quotes... some are his and some are ones that I don't know the origins of, but all he has used during classes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
People who have not received true forgiveness
cannot receive true forgetfulness.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
When you know something more, it doesn't take long to stand out.
If your Gospel isn't touching others, it hasn't touched you.
The Bible says,
"Believe and you will see,"
NOT,
"See and you will believe."
Speaking to Christians:
You're not just a human.
God dwells in you.
And because of that,
you can do God things.
Asis and Me: Feline
Jsis: OK! *scribbles in her sheet* Thou, filthy, foul, feline!!!
Bahaha... you shoulda heard her tone.
Blinking...
Why is making someone blink such an accomplishment?  GOD MADE YOU SO YOU COULD BLINK!!
For your eyes' sakes, please close them when they should.  Training/forcing your eyes to NOT shut when they should, is simultaneously dumb and unhealthy for you.
All better!
The Part where the Other Authoress Sneaks in Late...
Well hello there, O aweshume group of blog-readers sitting behind thine computers!
As the title indicates, this is the other Miss Cellaneoae who has the privilege of writing in this blog. I mentioned awhile back to Mizzoria that I thought it would be really fun if we had a blog where both of us could add random thoughts every now and then. And know what? She took me up on it and did all the work to start one! She's just kewl like that. 8)
So, Justin Case you don't know too much about me yet (besides that I like making up my own spellings for certain words..), let me tell you a bit about myself. If you don't let me tell you a bit about myself... well... I'd like to see you try to do that anyways. So yeah. Did I mention I tend to ramble when writing things like this? Especially when I've had a busy week and a busier week ahead? No wait I didn't tell you that... I haven't told you about myself yet.
    Anyways, I go by Esserita on this blog. Do people call me "Esserita" in real life, you ask? No, actually, as a matter of fact, they don't. However, if you come over and visit me, you are welcome to call me that and be the first to do so.
    Just how far do you have to travel to visit me? Well that depends on where you live, of course. Oh, and I live in Alaska. And I love running barefoot in the snow. Winter is most definitely the best season ever.
    I am currently pursuing a BA in Political Science. (HA! And just when you had started to think I was smart or something, right? Wait, what was that? Oh, never mind then.)
    My life motto is as follows, and I quote: Sleep is a definite symptom of coffee deprivation.
Well maybe that wasn't quite my life motto per se... But it certainly is important.
    Well, I could go on about random things about me, but if you don't know anything else about me, one thing you must know - I am a wretched sinner whom the Creator of the world loves and saved from desperate wretchedness. To this day, I still cannot figure out why He would love someone like me... But He does. And I am eternally grateful to Him for it, and pray that people would see Him in me.
So yeah! I'd love to hear from you all. Thanks for reading!
Fumes...
Caught myself saying the other day:
It smells bad in here...
Like perfume...
Like that Lord & Taylor Store...
we were stuck in...
in New York City...
must have offended someone with that train of thought...
Privilege
Acts 10:3-6 (NASB) About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!” And fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God. Now dispatch some men to Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also called Peter; he is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the sea.”
Why didn't the angel just tell Cornelius the message of the Gospel?
It was not given to angels the ministry of reconciliation.
It was given to us.
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NASB) Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [...]
We, humans, have been given the responsibility and privilege to bring the good news and teaching to those who have not heard and do not know.
What an honor!
I know, today's Independence day, and it is an honor for the daughter of 2 immigrants to be a citizen of this country, but I feel it is more an honor to be God's child and be given the duty and privilege to share the Good News and expand the Kingdom.  Wouldn't you?
Think about that next time you are sharing the Gospel with someone.
Davy Keith
I am thoroughly convinced my sister teaches piano to an Asian Davy Keith in the living flesh.
(^^An Anne of Avonlea reference; go read the series by LMMontgomery).
Seriously, the kid's mind goes through routes an adult's would never be able to find its way out of.  He is so cute, hilarious, innocent, impetuous, dear, and adorable.
I want to raise kids like him...
Beverage Party
I learned how to make Frappucinos a couple weeks ago.
They are so easy; I don't know why we spend money buying it from Starbucks.  Sure, the specific ingredients may be different, but the taste can be just as fantastic, if not better.
And I was thinking later... why can't we have a Frappucino party?
My family has an awesome blender (Total Blender - BlendTec).
Someone bring the milk.
Someone bring the coffee.
Someone bring the ice cubes.
Someone bring the sugar/agave.
Someone bring the powdered flavorings.
Someone bring the cups and straws.
Someone bring the cookies (to crumble!).
Someone bring the strawberries/fruits.
Someone bring the whipped cream.
Someone bring the ... whatever else I missed.
Wouldn't that be one awesome party?!  Of course, we could really get creative and make different smoothies, ice-creams, and floats... perfect for these scalding, summer days.
This one is actually a fruit/veggie smoothie...
Frothy Yumminess!!
